Difficulty:  Easy to moderate; can be difficult on the Patuxent River depending upon wind, weather, and tide conditions.

Description:  Tidal portion of the Patuxent River. Paddle past protected land on both the Calvert County's and Prince George's County shorelines – Kings Landing Park and Huntingtown NRMA on the east side of the river and the Patuxent River Park on the west side of the river. Explore Cocktown Creek's serpentine bends, paddling past marsh land and wooded upland and watch for mummichug, a small killifish, erratically jumping out of the water. Type of Launch: soft launch

Paddlers may drop off equipment at river's edge. Paddlers must park in upper lot, unless they have a handicap tag.
