"FY2025-2028 Community Plan"

The FY2025-2028 Community Plan for Calvert County Family Network (CCFN) outlines priorities and strategies to support children, youth, and families. It focuses on three key areas: Strong Beginnings, investing in early learning and care for children 0-5; Promising Futures, empowering youth and fostering a sense of belonging; and Empowering Families, providing wraparound supports for family stability and parental success. The plan is based on the 2024 Community Needs Assessment and aims to create a safe, healthy, and supportive environment through collaboration and strategic initiatives.

"2024 Community Needs Assessment for Child Well-Being"

This current Community Needs Assessment is a review of local data for Maryland's 8 Results for Child Well-Being: Babies Born Healthy, Healthy Children, Children Enter School Ready to Learn, Children are Successful in School, Youth will Complete School, Youth have Opportunities for Employment or Career Readiness, Communities are Safe for Children, Youth and Families and Families are Economically Stable. This Needs Assessment is the foundation for developing the Family Networks 5-year Community Plan.

"2022: Critical Intervention Mapping and Action Planning Workshop Report"

In July 2022, the CCFN hosted a two-day Critical Intervention Mapping and Action Planning Workshop (CIMs) facilitated by Policy Research Associates.

The workshop aimed to support:

  • The development of a localized map of how youth needs are identified across child-serving systems, how youth and families connect to services and to what extent community programs are able to address those needs.
  • The identification of local strengths and resources, as well as gaps and opportunities.
  • The development of an action plan to address priority areas for change.

Stakeholders representing schools, law enforcement, probation, courts, behavioral health service providers, funders, family members and Calvert County-based agencies were represented in this workshop.

"2020 Needs Assessment: Calvert County Results for Child Well-Being

This needs assessment, prepared by the CCFN, serves as the foundation for developing the FY22-FY25 strategic plan. Maryland’s Children’s Cabinet focuses on eight key result areas to improve well-being for children, families and communities across Maryland. Using the Results Based Accountability (RBA) format, this assessment examines these result areas on a county level, analyzing trend data to identify disparities across sub-groups and comparing them to other counties' disparities.

"FY 2016 Needs Assessment: Calvert County Results for Child Well-Being"

This past needs assessment for Calvert County provided the foundation for developing and updating the FY16-FY20 strategic plan.

"Needs Assessment of the Governor’s Strategic Goal Areas"

Impaq International completed this needs assessment on June 3, 2016. It analyzes data related to Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s four specific strategic goal areas: 1) disconnected youth; 2) children and families impacted by incarceration; 3) hunger; and 4) youth homelessness.

"The Community Plan for Child, Youth & Family Well-Being"

The Community Plan was completed in June 2017. The plan is informed by the 2016 Needs Assessment and identifies strategies to: reduce the number of disconnected youth (aged 16-24 not working and not in school); reduce the impact of parental incarceration on children, families, and communities; and increase the availability of at-home mental health services for high-risk parents.
