  • Scouts, youth groups and other service groups

*Age requirements vary depending on project. Not all opportunities are open to minors.

What Can Volunteers Do?

  • Service Volunteer: Service Volunteers are those volunteers expecting to serve at least 12 hours per year. Service Volunteers may work in a variety of areas including coaching, mentoring, instructing classes, assisting with special events and more. Service volunteers are required to complete an application, wavier and volunteer agreement and complete an annual background screening. Some volunteer positions may also require fingerprinting.
  • Special Event Volunteer: Special Event volunteers are those who are volunteering to assist with a specific event. Applicants are required to complete a volunteer waiver to participate.
  • Volunteer Coach: Volunteer Coaches serve in CCPR Youth Sports programs. Coaches must be at least 18 years of age, submit a coaching application and signed waiver and agreement and complete an annual background screening. Assistant coach and team manger positions may be available as well. Contact the Sports Office for more information.
  • Community Service Volunteers
  • Service Group Projects: The CCPR Volunteers program is the perfect way to serve your community and earn service hours or badges! From litter pick ups and garden plantings to installing park improvements like boardwalks and benches, there are countless ways for your group to get involved and make a lasting impact. Gold and Eagle Scout Award projects welcome!
  • Student Service-Learning Hours: CCPR works in cooperation with Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) to help students fulfill community service hours. Student Service Learning is a Maryland State Department of Education graduation requirement requiring 75 hours of service to the community prior to graduation. Prior to starting volunteer service, students should verify the eligibility of their planned service learning through CCPS to ensure they meet all requirements. Contact us for additional details.
  • Adopt a Park Program: CCPR's Adopt a Park Program provides the perfect opportunity for your business or organization to serve the community and help keep our parks and beaches beautiful. Our Adopt-A-Park program allows groups to sponsor a local park or beach and assist with the clean up of that location.
  • Court Mandated Community Service: We have limited opportunities for those needing to earn court-mandated community service hours. Your court-appointed representative should contact us for more information.
